Solutions

Despite the known benefits of exercise in dementia, sustainable community-based walking programs tailored to this population are scarce. After completing a pilot study which aimed to present the safety, feasibility and efficacy of a student-led, mall-walking program, we concluded that while the program idea is viable, the timely and geographical restrictions have significant deterrent effects; therefore, we propose a community-based walking program utilizing personalized biofeedback from wearable sensors as our program aims to enhance community walking activity and social well-being.
